Booking a 2027 Holiday Weekend Wedding? Secure Your Planner Next

Holiday weekends are the first wedding dates to sell out across the DMV. Guests have an extra day to travel and celebrate, and venues book these dates more than a year in advance. If you have just placed a deposit on your venue, your planner is the next booking to lock in. Planners take a limited number of weddings on each holiday weekend, and the best teams fill quickly.

  • Memorial Day Weekend: Saturday, May 29 – Monday, May 31, 2027

  • Fourth of July Weekend: Saturday, July 3 – Monday, July 5, 2027 (Independence Day falls on a Sunday, observed Monday)

  • Labor Day Weekend: Saturday, September 4 – Monday, September 6, 2027

Extravagant Affairs is now accepting a limited number of weddings for each 2027 holiday weekend. Tell us your venue and date through our Plan Your Event form, and we'll confirm availability, usually in less than an hour.

Our Wedding Planning Services

Full-Service Wedding Planning

For couples who want an expert at their side from the beginning. We manage budget planning, venue selection, vendor sourcing and contracts, design and styling, guest logistics, and the full production timeline, so you can enjoy your engagement instead of managing it.

Partial Planning

You've started planning and want a professional to take it the rest of the way. We step in where you need us, fill the gaps, refine your design and coordinate every vendor through the wedding day.

Month-Of and Day-Of Coordination

You've planned your wedding, and now you want it executed flawlessly. We take over in the final weeks to confirm every vendor, build the master timeline, run your rehearsal, and direct the wedding day so you and your families can be fully present.

Catering, Décor Rentals and Event Staffing

Our in-house culinary team, décor inventory and trained servers and bartenders can be added to any planning package, or booked on their own for venues that allow outside catering.

Multicultural and South Asian Wedding Planning in the DMV

Multicultural weddings are among the most meaningful celebrations we plan, and among the most complex. A South Asian wedding often spans several days and several venues, with ceremonies that each carry their own traditions, timing and cultural expectations. We plan them with respect for heritage and precision in execution. Our multicultural weddings include Indian, Pakistani, Ethiopian and Jewish celebrations, as well as fusion weddings that bring two families' traditions together.

  • Multi-day event planning for the Sangeet, Mehndi, Haldi, wedding ceremony and reception

  • Baraat coordination, including venue permissions, timing, music and safety

  • Mandap, stage and ceremony design that honors tradition

  • Jewish ceremonies, including chuppah setup and ketubah signing logistics

  • Fusion ceremonies that bring two cultures together naturally

  • Menus that respect cultural, religious and dietary needs, prepared by our own culinary team

  • Family and guest logistics for large, multi-generational celebrations

Featured Wedding: Sonam & Andrew's Indian–Jewish Fusion Celebration

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, Sonam and Andrew married at The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, Virginia, in a celebration that honored both of their families' traditions. The day moved from a Hindu family welcome ceremony and a mandap dressed in marigold and jasmine garlands to Jewish traditions and a joyful hora on the dance floor, with catering, décor and coordination by the Extravagant Affairs team. It is the kind of wedding we love most: two cultures, one seamless celebration.

“Shovana was THE BEST. We didn’t have a care in the world on our wedding day because she had taken everything off our plate. It was truly a great day.”

— Andrew, 5-star Google review

DMV Wedding Venues We Know

From grand ballrooms in Washington, DC and historic estates and vineyards in Northern Virginia to waterfront venues in Maryland, we know the rules, load-in times, layouts and vendor requirements of the region's venues. That knowledge saves time, money and wedding-day surprises. Our recent work includes the Lee wedding at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, DC. Tell us your venue, and we'll tell you what to expect.

Wedding Planning FAQs

How far in advance should we book a wedding planner in the DMV?

For full planning, 12 to 18 months before your wedding is ideal. For holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day, book your planner as soon as your venue is secured, because those dates fill first. Month-of coordination can typically be booked 3 to 6 months out, depending on availability.

How much does a wedding planner cost in Washington, DC?

Cost depends on the level of service, guest count, number of events and your venue. Month-of coordination is our most accessible option, while full-service and multi-day multicultural planning are priced to the scope of your celebration. We provide a clear, itemized proposal after your consultation, with no surprises.

What is the difference between full planning and month-of coordination?

Full planning means we guide every decision from the start, including budget, venue, vendors and design. Month-of coordination is for couples who have planned their wedding and want professionals to finalize the details and run the day.

Do you plan Indian and South Asian weddings with multiple events?

Yes. Multi-day South Asian and multicultural weddings are a specialty, including the Sangeet, Mehndi, Haldi, Baraat, ceremony and reception, across one venue or several.

Do you provide catering, or do we need a separate caterer?

We have our own in-house catering, décor rentals and event staff. Many couples choose us because one team handles planning and catering together. If your venue has an exclusive caterer, we coordinate with them seamlessly.

Do you work at any venue in DC, Maryland and Virginia?

Yes. We plan weddings at venues throughout Washington, DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia, and we're happy to help you find one if you're still searching.

Are you available for 2027 holiday weekends?

We are accepting a limited number of weddings for Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends in 2027. Contact us with your venue and date, and we typically respond in less than an hour.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes. Consultations are held by video, so you can meet us from anywhere, which is ideal for couples planning from out of town.

How do we get started?

Complete our Plan Your Event form with your date, venue and guest count, and we'll schedule your 30-minute consultation.
