South Asian Wedding Planning in Washington, DC, Maryland & Northern Virginia
Extravagant Affairs plans and coordinates South Asian weddings across the DMV, including Indian, Pakistani and fusion celebrations. Our South Asian Collections follow how these weddings actually unfold: one long wedding day that carries the baraat, the ceremony and the reception from morning into the night, plus the mehndi and sangeet celebrations that bring your families together beforehand. Every collection is tailored to your guest count, your venues and your traditions, and can include our in-house catering, décor rentals and event staffing.
Collection I: The Wedding Day Experience
Starting at $7,500. Wedding day coordination for the baraat, the ceremony and the reception, for the couple who wants the whole day in trusted hands. Décor is not included and is designed and quoted to your vision. The collection includes:
-
Weekly one-hour planning meetings by Zoom, a site walk-through 30 days before the wedding, and a master timeline you approve, sent to every vendor the week of your wedding
-
Baraat staging and timing, flowing into the ceremony processional
-
Ceremony direction with your officiant, families and vendors
-
Ceremony-to-reception turnover while your guests refresh
-
Reception direction through the final dance, including an added hour with your venue
-
Strike: our team stays after the last guest leaves to oversee breakdown and cleanup
-
A CPR-certified team with an Extravagant Affairs emergency kit at every event
Collection II: Mehndi & Sangeet (À La Carte)
By consultation. Your mehndi and sangeet are added individually and are not part of the Wedding Day collection. Because every family’s traditions, regions and décor are different, each celebration is priced through your consultation, based on the design you envision:
-
Mehndi support: behind-the-scenes assistance for the bride and bridal party while the henna is applied
-
Sangeet coordination: running the timeline and vendor cues so your families can mingle, perform and celebrate
-
Sangeet décor and rentals from the Extravagant Affairs in-house collection, designed to your vision
Featured in Maharani Weddings: Abi & Varun
Abi and Varun’s Hindu wedding was featured by Maharani Weddings. Their sangeet was held at The Woodlands at Algonkian, and they married beneath a modern mandap at the Hyatt Regency Dulles, with Extravagant Affairs coordinating their celebrations.
